This might sound surprising, but if your team is confused, they’re not productive. And when they’re not productive, your practice growth stalls. The reality is that your practice at 100 office visits per week looks very different from 150 visits, and even more so at 200 visits per week. As your practice grows, your processes must evolve—and they must be clear.

The book Traction does an excellent job of breaking down simple business processes, emphasizing the need for documented systems. In your practice, every procedure should be documented and followed by all. If your team isn’t on the same page, inefficiencies creep in, and momentum slows.

Your job as the practice owner is to ensure every team member understands exactly what is expected of them. Document your processes, communicate them clearly, and make sure your team follows them. When everyone knows what to do and how to do it, they become engaged, confident, and productive—leading to the growth you’re aiming for.
